Ti Lolo is a very quaint bistro run by owner and fabulous chef Laurence. Her skills in classical french cuisine mixed with flair of the Caribbean can been seen and tasted in all of her dishes. Having started in 2019, Laurence and her small team quickly made a name for Ti Lolo, solidifying it’s name, for many, on Antigua and Barbuda’s top list of culinary experiences.
Ti Lolo Restaurant is one of the great dining establishments in Antigua and Barbuda. Laurence’s passion for food is on display with every dish, taking your taste buds on a culinary journey. From delightful mushroom crostini with truffle oil to refreshing passion fruit tiramisu to close out the meal, you find that whatever you order will be packed full of flavour.
When it comes to drinks, you’ll be covered on all bases! With with such good food, there is no surprise that Ti Lolo complements it with a finely curated list of both old and new world wines that can impress any palette. Whist the wines are definitely impressive, you certainly won’t be let down by the cocktails which I’ve admittedly had far too many of 😅.
Although on the roadside, Ti Lolo Restaurant has a charm about it that almost makes you feel like you’re on a remote hillside. This possibly comes from a combination of all of the following: classically inspired Antiguan architecture, lots of foliage surrounding the restaurant, the cool breeze you catch right off the ocean or maybe just the warm and relaxing atmosphere Laurence and her staff have managed to create. Due to Ti Lolo’s size, the restaurant has managed to create a very intimate but open feel.
Laurance also usually pulls herself a way from the kitchen for a few brief moments to check on each of the guests which I think only enhances the experience and charm of the places.
Whilst Ti Lolo Restaurant is by no means cheap, I believe it is very reasonably priced for the quality of food, drinks and service you are receiving. Since Ti Lolo opened it’s doors, I have never heard a negative review of the restaurant or it’s prices.
Ti Lolo Restaurant has very limited seating and and opens for a short period each day (see opening times for reference). For those reasons, I would definitely recommend reserving a table ahead of time, especially if you have a large group.
With the restaurant being elevated about a meter or two above road height and with no ramp access, I would say this is not a restaurant to visit for those in wheelchairs unless someone in your party is willing to pull you up some stairs (see image in gallery). Besides that, this restaurant is otherwise quite accessible.
If you’re looking to plan lunch at Ti Lolo Restaurant into a relaxed day, why not start by spending the morning over at the beautiful Pigeon Point Beach which is roughly a 20 minute walk or a few minutes drive over the hill behind the restaurant. After lunch I’d recommend wondering into Nelsons Dockyard to soak up some history or head back into English Harbour for a few more drinks, either on the new dock or one of the many bars/restaurants near the water.
If going with a group, I would recommend getting roughly 2 dishes each and treating it as tapas type dining. I’ve found that this allows everyone to sample all the delicious food whilst avoiding FOMO. It also makes the dining experience a bit more relaxed, something that we do well in Antigua 😉. Additionally, if you’re unsure of how hungry you and your party are you can always start with a few dishes and then order more as you go along, within reason of course.
To try to help sustain certain marine species around Antigua and Barbuda, bans are put in place at points in the year to stop the fishing and sale of said species. I mention this as you may not find items such as lobster or conch available, depending on when you visit.
